For the Editors

Editors (Those working on the Bahrain Write-Up),

If you're at a loss on the similarities between S'pore and Bahrain, here are some ideas:
1. Bahrain has hosted Formula One races too even though it is not a very big nation like S'pore.
2. Bahrain and Singapore are both island countries.
3. Bahrain and Singapore both have limited water resources (Look at what both countries are doing to solve this problem)

Presenters for Booth at AYG village and school

Presenters,

You need to do your own personal research on:
1. the history of Bahrain
2. what Bahrain is like today
3. the Bahraini traditions
4. what the Bahraini like to do as their pasttimes (hobbies)
5. similarities between Singapore and Bahrain

Decoration of the Booth

Booth Designers,
(Does that sound like a line from the programme 'Project Runway'?)

Your aim: To re-create the atmosphere of a Bahraini home: Give the public a sense of what a Bahraini home will look like and feel like

How? Set up the booth area to look almost exactly like a Bahraini home.

Draft one includes:
- Design of the booth
- Pictures for reference
- Proposal on colour theme, layout, items to be used to reflect write-up
- Proposal on music to be played

Bahrain Write-Up

(And I shall call you guys this-) Editors,

Your Bahrain write-up needs to include:
- History
- Traditions: Family Life, Games, Beliefs
- Culture: Arts & Music
- Food
- Sports

- Any other interesting things about Bahrain which you think the public would be surprised/amazed/amused to know.

CALLING ALL DESIGNERS!

If you love doodling, drawing and designing,
WE WANT YOU!

YOGAs,
We'd like to have something which can be part of our identity as CSS YOGAs. Ms Faith and I intend to make wristbands for all of you. It can be a souvenir to give our Bahraini guests too when we meet them.

But we'd like to leave the space for creativity to you guys-to make a design for the wristband.
Need an example?

To make it clear that it belongs to CSS YOGAs,
it should:
1. use school colours (White, Gold/Yellow and Blue)
2. Have the acronyms 'CSS' and 'YOGA' (They do not always have to be next to one another)
3. be clear and uncomplicated.

Desgins are to be in by TUESDAY (26May), 12pm. You can e-mail a JPEG or submit a drawing to me.

Looking forward to YOUR designs!
-Ms Yang

Dear Yogas

The following are the confirmed list of people who will be entrusted to do one of the 5 tasks that Ms Yang talked to you about this morning.

There has been some shuffling of people as some activities had overwhelming response and we can't afford that many people for it. However, rest assured that we took into consideration your strengths when we allocated you the task and no matter which task, every single thing thing done by each one of you is important. YOGAs is not a one man or a few people show, its a team effort and every one's contribution counts. So i hope that you will take pride in whichever task you have been entrusted with and do it with excellence:)

The rest of the YOGAs who did not sign up, i hope you take the initiative to come in and assist when the need arises and to volunteer your services for events that need more manpower like the manning of the eventual booths at the AYG village and school. Why stand idle and watch others have fun and grow while being part of an history making event for Singapore when YOU can join in and gain invaluable experience from it!? All you need to do is to step out and count yourself in;)

Ms Yang and myself may meet each of the groups on seperate occassion but for now you may start brainstorming for ideas and do some simple research online as i believe DRAFT 1 is due very soon....next week to be precise.

For the E twinning students- You will need to meet Mr Sim this Friday, 22/5 at 12.30pm outside the staffroom.

Ok here comes the list:

Countdown to AYG!

Hi YOGAs,
If you think Ms Faith & I have forgotten your existence in the past 1.5 months, no, sorry, you're horribly wrong!

Now that the examinations are over and AYG 43 days away, there's quite a lot to do to create an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation in CSS for the 1st-ever AYG.

What's going to happen:
1. ALL of us need to research on Bahrain so that we are really Bahrain's Ambassadors to CSS and when we meet them, we have ideas of do's and don'ts and maybe you have your own questions you want to ask them.

2.Setting up a booth introducing Bahrain in the Swissotel Stamford from 29-30June as part of the AYG village. The public can visit and find out more about Bahrain-their history, family life, traditional practices, food and sports.

3. We also need to set up a similar booth in CSS; to introduce AYG and Bahrain to CSS.

4. Create an E-Portal to update CSS about the happenings in AYG and even introduce the Bahraini to them.

5. Design and paint the YOG wall-the wall from the foyer to the library's entrance.

To ensure we still have time to rest, we need to work smart.
Therefore, we should get all our planning done before the term ends, produce our materials by the 1st week of June and return to school in the last week (tentatively from 24June onwards) to put the finishing touches!

Let's all commit and put in our best to bring the AYG to Commonwealth!
-Ms Yang.
